Compared to other methods of taking impressions you might see in other offices, such as using dental putty and trays, our iTero digital scanner is faster, more comfortable, and more accurate.
In addition to our state-of-the-art iTero scanner, we have invested in the Dental Monitoring ScanBox. This device allows our team to monitor your treatment and check-in with you virtually. We can detect any misalignment in your treatment plan early, preventing any delays and producing a higher quality smile!

Dr. James (Jim Ed) Lane is a lifelong Murfreesboro resident. Dr. Lane attended Oakland High School and graduated in 1997. Dr. Lane attended the University of Tennessee where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology in the spring of 2002. Later that year, he began his dental school education at UT’s Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee where he obtained his D.D.S. in 2006. Dr. Lane practiced in Tullahoma, Tennessee for 3 years before planting his roots in his home town of Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 2009 by opening his very own private practice.
Dr. Lane is married to Katie Gallimore Lane. They reside just outside of town in Lascassas. They have two beautiful little girls, Libi and Ansley. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and the outdoors. In his spare time, Dr. Lane enjoys golfing, working out, and watching sporting events.

If you have minor or moderate orthodontic issues, you are likely a good candidate for treatment with SureSmile. So long as your mouth is free of any oral health issues like gum disease or tooth decay, you will probably be eligible to proceed with treatment. However, SureSmile is not for everyone. While SureSmile trays look very similar to night guards and mouthguards, we do not recommend that you use SureSmile as a nightguard. The clear plastic trays are designed to gently shift your teeth, not protect them. If you grind your teeth at night, we may recommend that you get a night guard to protect your teeth and go with traditional braces instead of SureSmile. If you wear your aligners at night and notice that they are becoming cracked or worn down, this may be a sign that you are grinding your teeth at night. This will affect your treatment so be sure to let your doctor know right away if you think you might be grinding your teeth.
A full SureSmile case is a set $4,500. A consult is necessary to determine accurate pricing, as not every smile needs a full case and limited cases will vary in cost. During your consultation, your doctor will consider multiple factors including your needs, your lifestyle, and your budget before helping you decide which treatment to proceed with.
SureSmile aligners are nearly impossible to see when wearing them. This is because they are made out of clear plastic and are perfectly fit to your smile. Your trays will be custom-made trimmed to fit to your gum line for a more seamless look. Plus there are no metal brackets or wires, so you can feel confident in your smile throughout treatment. However, if you eat or drink with your aligners in, they could become stained, making them more visible.
These clear aligners are designed onto a mold of your teeth. A lab technician will apply layers of a photo-sensitive liquid resin to this custom mold. Next, the technician will expose this resin to a laser, curing it into a hard, yet flexible, thermoplastic. This plastic is called SmartTrack®, and it was created exclusively for SureSmile treatment. It’s FDA-approved and contains no BPA, BPS, latex, or gluten.
